Artist: Futura

Futura, formerly known as Futura 2000, is the artistic alias of Leonard “Lenny” Hilton McGurr (American, b. November 17th, 1955). A graffiti artist since the late ’70s, he began showing his street art style in galleries during the 1980s. McGurr’s art became intrinsically linked with Mo’ Wax records founder James Lavelle’s UNKLE project, for which the artist’s Pointman (intro. 1988) creation became an unofficial mascot.
