Artist: Shepard Fairey

Frank Shepard Fairey (American, b. February 15th, 1970), known professionally as Shepard Fairey, is a street artist, graphic designer, activist, illustrator, and the founder of OBEY Clothing. First emerging in 1989 with his Andre the Giant Has a Posse sticker campaign, he became widely known during the 2008 U.S. presidential election for his Barack Obama “Hope” poster. While not frequently associated with the designer toy movement, Fairey has created several pieces within the style, notably several Dunny and Qee designs as well as his original Mr. Spray figure.
